ALL WEEKEND
Edinburgh Food Festival
The food fest is on all weekend at George Square Gardens and we are paricularly excited about the Slow Food Edinburgh events. They will feature meat, game and charcuterie on Saturday while the star of Sunday will be dairy. Sounds cheesy? Certainly there will be a cheese map of Scotland.
Pop-up Brunch at CGS
Century General Store (CGS) is throwing a pop-up brunch with Kitcheneast both on Saturday and Sunday at their Montrose Terrace shop. Check out their insta for more details @centurygeneralstore.

It's the closing weekend of the jazz fest, so your last chance to enjoy great tunes by Davina&the Vagabonds, Seonaid Aitken with the Tokyo Django Collective, the Michal Milczgarek Trio and others. We already enjoyed the fest during the week and can confirm that the view from the City Art Centre 5th floor venue is pretty good!
23RD JULY, SATURDAY
Leith Market 1st Birthday
Can't believe it has already been a year since the Leith Market appeared in the Edinburgh market scene - luckily it has proved popular and they will throw a special birthday market to celebrate the occasion. Meet your favourite vendors and with every purchase get a chance to win a hamper full of goodies.
The Pitt
If you're already in Leith, why not pop in to the Pitt? The list of this week's vendors include Barnacles&Bones, Umami Spice Girl, Sweet by Twelve Triangles and others. Caffeine supply by the Bearded Barista.

There will be goodie bags designed by Jaco&co and perhaps some bubbly! Check out the fashion fest full program here.

Jazz Festival
Edinburgh's jazz fest is finally on - have you booked your tickets yet? Our top picks are Davina&the Vagabonds, the Budapest Ragtime Band and Seonaid Aitken with The Tokyo Django Colletive. If you want just a free taster, Mardi Gras is on at the Grassmarket on Saturday from 1pm.
16TH JULY, SATURDAY
Japanese Tea Sampling
After the successful Darjeeling tasting two weeks ago, Pekoetea Tollcross and Stockbridge will be hosting a Japanese tea sampling event, yay! We have been lusting after a matcha set for a while, maybe we should give some hints to Mr Enthusiast that this is the perfect occasion to get one? Also there will be 3 for 2 offer on the teas sampled - Kukicha, Genmaicha, light and dark roast Hojicha and Sencha Kura.
The Pitt
July has been so busy we have not actually made it yet to the famous Pitt street food market! Now we have an extra incentive to turn up - the Crema Caravan will be serving there our favourite creme brûlées.
17TH JULY, SUNDAY
Love is Eternal
Have you been recently to Jupiter Artland? This Sunday is the last chance to see three of their temporary exhibitions: Love is Eternal by Ditte Gantriis involves giants baskets in the grand setting of the Ballroom, you can also see 'piss flowers' by Helen Chadwick and songbirds by Celeste Boursier-Mougenot. The fact that there is no rain forecast (yet) for Sunday is the perfect excuse for an outdoor artsy day.
Have a nice weekend!

Visit Little Sparta
9TH JULY, SATURDAY
Instameet at NMS
Edinburgh Printmakers Market
10TH JULY, SUNDAY
Wine Making at Jupiter Artland
Visit Little Sparta
Never heard of Little Sparta? We're not surprised - we first read about it this spring and we've been Edinburgh residents for over 4 years! So we were counting the days until their summer opening. Very limited timeframe, but in July they are open both Saturday and Sunday afternoons (and during the week on Wednesdays and Fridays). For a Saturday visit you should book via Brown Paper Tickets. Ideally visited by car - if you can't drive or get a lift, better wait until August when the Scottish Poetry Library will be providing minibus transport. More visitor info here.
9TH JULY, SATURDAY
Instameet at NMS
Are you on Insta? Get up ridiculously early on a Saturday for a fun instameet hosted by the National Museums of Scotland. They have just unveiled 10 new galleries - pop in to see the new exhibits ranging from Picasso ceramics to a 3D print of a human brain. There are still a few spaces left, sign up here with the password 'Emptynms'.
Edinburgh Printmakers Market
Edinburgh Printmakers will be hosting a summer craft fair at Union Street. Excellent opportunity to get unique items from local artists - plus there is always an excuse to get a new print for your empty walls!
10TH JULY, SUNDAY
Wine Making at Jupiter Artland
Make your own wine from elderflowers foraged at the Jupiter Artland Estate - tickets can be booked here. Alternatively, you can just check out one of the gallery exhibitions which are due to close soon. We love the Ballroom and until the 17th July it is filled with giant baskets by artist Ditte Gantries, certainly Instagram-worthy.

If you're into fashion you should jump on the train to join Scot Street Style's Gathering XI at the Glasgow Collective. We were lucky to attend Gordon Millar's gathering at Edinburgh Biscuit Factory last summer and it was a blast!
