Trad Fest

Trad Fest Dun Eideann is a signature event of Scotland's Year of History, Heritage and Archeology. The annual showcase of Scotland's traditional arts is now in full swing with 131 events across 34 venues. Expect story, song and dance until 7th May - browse the programme here. Our top pick is the New Town's 250th birthday walking tour by the lovely Jean of Greenyonder Tours.

Artline

Have you heard about the Fife Artline? They are having an Open Doors Weekend this Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm, with a focus on station buildings from North Queensferry to Cupar. Locations are easily accessible by Scotrail.

29TH APRIL, SATURDAY

Custom House Artists' Open Day

Meanwhile in Leith the Custom House and Custom Lane have an open day alongside the usual Saturday Farmers' Market. If you are lucky, you can still get some bargains from the Pad Lifestyle pop-up at Custom Lane.

30TH APRIL, SUNDAY

Beltane Fire Festival

Celebrate the first signs of summer with a Celtic fire festival on the top of Calton Hill. Gates open at 8pm and the event lasts over three hours. Buy your tickets here and don't forget to dress up warm.

Pad's 2nd Birthday

One of our favourite indie shops, Pad Lifestyle is having a 2nd birthday warehouse and sample sale in Custom Lane down in Leith. Discounted items include homeware, fashion and lifestyle. The pop-up is open until 30th April. If you can't make it in person they also have an online discount code on their website.

Eating & Drinking Guide

The List's annual Eating & Drinking Guide is out, get your copy from Waterstones. Download your voucher here to get £2 off the price until the end of May.

22ND APRIL, SATURDAY

Hermitage Garden Open Day

The Hermitage city garden in Morningside will host an open day this Saturday between 2 and 5pm. The garden is part of the Scotland's Gardens scheme and the £4 entry fee will go towards charity.

23RD APRIL, SUNDAY

Last Chance for Monkey Business

The hugely popular exhibition of the National Museum of Scotland will close this Sunday. Better get there quick if you want to see some Monkey Business featuring over 60 taxidermy specimen. Kids go free.

UK Coffee Week

Celebrate UK Coffee Week with the Disloyal 7. You can buy tickets via Eventbrite to participate in a Guided Crawl or an Open Crawl at the Disloyal 7 coffee shops, namely Cairngorm, Lowdown, Fortitude, Baba Budan, Brew Lab, Cult Espresso, Filament.

Easter Streetfood Fun

The Pitt Street returns for 3 days of streetfood and music - vendors include Pizza Geeks, Smith & Gertrude and The Marshmallow Lady. Meanwhile in Glasgow the BAaD Backyard is hosting a 2 days long launch party with streetfood, music, cocktails and live graffiti.

15TH APRIL, SATURDAY

Thunder from Down Under

While Mr Enthusiast's parents are away in Down Under (they left us at home!), Edinburgh Food Studio will be hosting an Aussie chef - so at least our tastebuds will travel. Their dining event is named Thunder from Down Under and we are pretty excited about it!

16TH APRIL, SUNDAY

Mini Maker Faire

One of the Science Festival's flagship events, the Mini Maker Faire returns to Summerhall on Easter Sunday. Also make sure to check out other events of the Science Fest before it finishes.

Science Festival

The Science Fest is on all weekend with exciting events for the whole family. We love Gastrofest so you might spot us while munching on burgers tonight (Friday) at The Burger Evolution. Other weekend highlights include Moments in TimeDistilling Live with Edinburgh Gin and The Art of Taxidermy.

The folk behind @igersedinburgh teamed up with Dynamic Earth Edinburgh as the location of their next instameet. You can sign up via Eventbrite. Meanwhile at Nevis Gorge near Fort William @thehighlandcollective/ will have their very first meet. You can sign up here.

Walking Wedding Fair
